Candidates for the Bhuptani Excellence in Nursing Award will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Clinical Excellence and Compassionate Care: Candidates must demonstrate outstanding nursing practice that reflects superior clinical judgment and a commitment to compassionate patient care in their interactions with patients and families.
- Sustainability of Initiatives: The longevity and viability of the candidate’s initiatives are key. Applicants should illustrate how their actions and innovations can be maintained and expanded over time, positively impacting patient care and organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborative Efforts: Candidates should highlight their ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, fostering cooperation among colleagues and departments to achieve successful patient outcomes.
- Contribution to Union Health’s Mission: Candidates must explain how their nursing practices and initiatives align with and contribute to Union Health’s mission, particularly in enhancing health for the communities served and reducing healthcare disparities.
To be considered for the Bhuptani Excellence in Nursing Award, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- The candidate must be in good standing and employed at Union Health for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years by date of the nomination year.
- Employees who have been previously nominated may be re-nominated, provided they have not received the same honor within the last three (3) years.
- Previous winners of this award are ineligible for re-nomination for three years. After this period, only new materials not previously submitted will be reviewed.
- Employees with a compensation grade of director level or higher not eligible. Both awards embody the spirit of excellence at Union Health, recognizing those who lead with compassion, innovation, and a commitment to serving the community in alignment with our mission.
