The Bhuptani Excellence in Service Award

The Bhuptani Excellence in Service Award honors individuals who exemplify exceptional dedication to service, compassion, and commitment within Union Health. This award presented annually recognizes those who strive to elevate patient experiences, uplift colleagues, and foster a culture of caring throughout the organization. Recipients of this esteemed award will not only have made impactful contributions to their areas of expertise but will also serve as role models, inspiring others to emulate their passion for service and community engagement. The winner will be awarded $2,500 from the Bhuptani Family Fund, provided through Union Health Foundation in partnership with Union Health.

Candidates for the Bhuptani Excellence in Service Award will be assessed based on the following criteria:

  • Proven Impactful Contributions: Candidates must demonstrate a history of significant contributions that have positively affected patient care, team dynamics, or organizational culture at Union Health.
  • Inspiration and Leadership: A hallmark of this award is the ability to inspire others. Candidates should showcase their leadership qualities in motivating colleagues, fostering teamwork, and cultivating a spirit of cooperation and support in their work environment.
  • Commitment to Community Engagement: Candidates must illustrate their dedication to positive change within the communities they serve. This may include initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes, addressing social determinants of health, or actively participating in community outreach programs.
  • Alignment with Union Health’s Mission: Candidates must point to how their actions and contributions align with Union Health’s mission to enhance the health and well-being of the communities served and promote health equity.

To be eligible for the Bhuptani Excellence in Service Award, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • The candidate must be in good standing and have been employed at Union Health for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years by the nomination year.
  • Any employee who has been previously nominated may be re-nominated, provided that they have not been chosen as a recipient of the same award within the last three (3) years.
  • Previous winners of this award are not eligible for re-nomination for three years. After this period, only new materials not previously submitted will be accepted for review.
  • Employees with a compensation grade of director level or higher are not eligible.

Union Health Foundation is now accepting nominations for the prestigious Bhuptani Excellence in Service Awards.  Union Health employees are encouraged to make nominations.

The Bhuptani Excellence in Nursing Award

The Bhuptani Excellence in Nursing Award celebrates individuals who exemplify excellence in nursing practice and compassionate care within Union Health. This prestigious recognition awarded annually honors nurses who actively create, implement, and sustain initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, promote safety, and foster a culture of empathy and respect. The winner will be awarded $2,500 from the Bhuptani Family Fund, provided through Union Health Foundation in partnership with Union Health.

Candidates for the Bhuptani Excellence in Nursing Award will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

  • Clinical Excellence and Compassionate Care: Candidates must demonstrate outstanding nursing practice that reflects superior clinical judgment and a commitment to compassionate patient care in their interactions with patients and families.
  • Sustainability of Initiatives: The longevity and viability of the candidate’s initiatives are key. Applicants should illustrate how their actions and innovations can be maintained and expanded over time, positively impacting patient care and organizational effectiveness.
  • Collaborative Efforts: Candidates should highlight their ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, fostering cooperation among colleagues and departments to achieve successful patient outcomes.
  • Contribution to Union Health’s Mission: Candidates must explain how their nursing practices and initiatives align with and contribute to Union Health’s mission, particularly in enhancing health for the communities served and reducing healthcare disparities.

To be considered for the Bhuptani Excellence in Nursing Award, applicants must meet the following qualifications:

  • The candidate must be in good standing and employed at Union Health for a minimum of three (3) consecutive years by [insert date] of the nomination year.
  • Employees who have been previously nominated may be re-nominated, provided they have not received the same honor within the last three (3) years.
  • Previous winners of this award are ineligible for re-nomination for three years. After this period, only new materials not previously submitted will be reviewed.
  • Employees with a compensation grade of director level or higher not eligible.  Both awards embody the spirit of excellence at Union Health, recognizing those who lead with compassion, innovation, and a commitment to serving the community in alignment with our mission.
