Union Health Foundation is proud to announce the award of 43 scholarships totaling $67,000 to 35 outstanding students from the Wabash Valley for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year. This year’s scholarship recipients were honored during a ceremony held at Union Hospital on Thursday, marking a significant event in the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to developing the future workforce in health care.
As Union Health Foundation celebrates its 40th anniversary, we reflect on a legacy of support that began in 1985, when the Foundation received its first gifts to support the health care needs of our communities. Since then, the Foundation has distributed over $985,000 to more than 800 local students pursuing careers in vital fields such as nursing, physical therapy, respiratory therapy and pharmacy, among others.
“Celebrating excellence and impact, it's an honor to serve on Union Health Foundation's Board,” said Mary Doti, Board Chair of Union Health Foundation. “Each scholarship not only boosts the individual student but also reinforces our community’s future health care capabilities. The unwavering support of our donors is essential for ensuring that we have dedicated and skilled professionals entering the health care industry, which ultimately enhances the quality of care in our communities.”
This year's scholarships include 18 nursing students and 17 individuals pursuing degrees in health sciences or other health care-related fields. These scholarships open doors and provide opportunities that help shape the next generation of health care leaders.
