Service League

Volunteer for Union

Members of the Service League help Union Hospital patients, families and the staff with activities to supplement the Hospital through volunteer and fundraising efforts which provide necessary services and equipment. Since its inception in 1953, the Service League has raised more than $2,000,000 in donations to the hospital through the Foundation.

One of the Service League’s many projects is creating puppy pillow to comfort Union’s youngest patients. The Service League is always accepting donations of materials to make puppy, kitty and bunny pillows. Drop off your donations of cotton fabric (either small print or solid colors) and all-purpose thread (white or ecru, please) at Union Hospital Volunteer Services. Need someone to pick up your donation? Call Marilyn Haerr at 812.877.6090 to arrange pick up.

The Service League sponsors Wishlist Grants to support hospital needs, and the Margaret Carroll Scholarship in support of higher education needs of Union Hospital employee children.

Comfort for Younger Patients

Puppy pillows comfort Union’s youngest patients during their stay. Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the Service League of Union Hospital along with generous donations, our youngest patients are comforted with puppy pillows during their stay. Watch the video to see how these pillows make a difference in patients’ lives.
