Union Health Foundation has announced its 2025 grant impact, awarding more than 57 grants and numerous scholarships totaling more than $900,000. These funds will be used to advance patient care, support families during vulnerable moments, strengthen the health care workforce and expand health and safety programs throughout our communities.
“Every gift to the Foundation has a direct and lasting impact on our patients and community,” said Becky Miller, President of Union Health Foundation. “These investments are made possible through the incredible partnership of local businesses and community friends, our dedicated Union Health co-workers and the Union Hospital Service League. Together, they bring resources, time and care that transform patient experiences, support families and strengthen our community’s health every day.”
Guided by a renewed mission to inspire giving, build strong partnerships and support Union Health by addressing our community’s evolving health needs, the Foundation continues to serve as a bridge between donor generosity and meaningful, real-world impact. Its vision is to be the catalyst for improving health in our communities through philanthropic leadership. Notable 2025 grant investments include:
Advancing Equipment & Patient Care Technology
Investments in cutting-edge technology and equipment enhance patient comfort, safety and healing. Highlights include the SAVI SCOUT radar localization system, offering breast surgery patients a less invasive, more precise procedure; new infusion chairs that bring dignity and comfort during long treatments; and patient transport chairs that improve mobility and safety throughout our facilities.
Caring for Patients, Families & Co-Workers
Supporting emotional well-being remains a priority. Grants to offer music therapy in Hux Oncology and Hospice provide comfort, connection and healing during challenging times. The Mother/Baby Safe Sleep initiative ensures every new family receives a safe sleep sack, promoting safer beginnings while offering guidance and support for parents of our youngest patients.
Strengthening Community Health & Safety
Grant support extended beyond hospital walls to improve community health. Funding for the Mollie Wheat Memorial Clinic helps uninsured and under-resourced patients access preventative care, laboratory services and medication support. Additional grants supported food insecurity initiatives and respiratory wellness programs, reinforcing the Foundation’s commitment to healthier, safer communities.
Investing in the Health Care Workforce
The Foundation also invested in the future of health care, funding student scholarships for aspiring health professionals and supporting continuing education, certifications and leadership development opportunities for current staff. These efforts cultivate skilled caregivers and empower emerging leaders across the Union Health system.
“Our donors make everything we do possible,” said Mary Doti, Board Chair of Union Health Foundation. “Their generosity ensures that families are cared for, patients have access to life-changing resources, and the next generation of health care leaders is supported. Every contribution builds a stronger, healthier community.”
